Baby Care Tips for New Parents
Are you a new parent? If the answer to that question is yes, you should know that taking care of a newly born baby is no easy task (You can say it's not child's play). However, you shouldn't be alarmed as well, because your parents were new parents at a time and you turned out just fine.
Babies are fragile and need proper nutrition and care in order to stay safe and healthy. Since their immune systems are very weak at the beginning it is always mandatory that you maintain hygiene in and around your home.
Here are a few tips that will help you take care of your baby:
Know their nutrition
Babies have varied nutritional needs based on their ages. New born babies need to be breastfed in order to get the right nutrition as well as anti-bodies in order to fight off illnesses. However, as they grow older they're going to begin having paste food and slowly solids.
You need to consult your doctor to determine what needs to be fed and when they can start on solid foods.
Clothing
Clothing is another important factor that you need to look into as many children are allergic to particular materials. Therefore you should make sure that you check them regularly for any signs of rash if you've suddenly begun using a new kind of material.
Change their diapers at the right time
Make sure that you change the baby's diaper whenever it's soiled. Else this too can lead to rash development. Moreover, babies are fragile and hence you should be careful when changing them, else you may wound their legs while pulling the diaper off.
Bath - A crucial aspect of daily life
Make sure that you bathe them in warm water. There are plenty of places across the globe where babies are given cold water baths, but most children tend to get the flu when this is done.
New born babies need to be bathed quickly and at the same time you need to be careful too. Get the towel ready and wrap them up in it the moment you're done. Don't give them a chance to catch a cold. Ask your doctor for guidance as to what soap you can use as they usually pick gentle soaps that are also hypoallergenic.
Don't pick them up suddenly
You need to make sure that your baby is ready to be picked up. Hold them first and give them time to curl their bodies to be lifted. If they're sleeping you should be gentle in lifting them up as they won't curl up their bodies and be ready for you.
